This 60-credit Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree prepares graduates for a position in health care leadership. Graduates gain the knowledge and technical skills needed for medical office management. The degree includes a strong foundation in professional skills with coursework in college writing, ethics, intro to public speaking, human resources management, and supervisory leadership.
Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in a variety of health care settings in this high-growth field, including hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, government agencies, public health, home health agencies, long-term care facilities and dental offices. Health care leadership professionals use specific knowledge in medical terminology, as well as knowledge of hospital, clinic and laboratory procedures to support medical practices and medical practitioners, including physicians, physical therapists, dentists and other health care providers.
