Workforce Development Scholarships

Each year Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MinnState) allocates each member institution, including Northwest Technical College, a certain number of Workforce Development Scholarships for students pursuing education in certain high-demand career fields.

There is still an opportunity for students to apply for the Workforce Development Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year.

(NOTE: Students that earn the WDS at NTC are eligible for a 3rd year of the same scholarship if they transfer to BSU after completing their chosen program at NTC)

Eligible programs at NTC

  • Automotive
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Dental Assisting
  • Emerging Computer Technology
  • Engineering Technology
  • Health Science Broad field
  • Health Care Admin Support/Specialist
  • Medical Coding
  • Nursing Generic
  • Practical Nursing
  • Gerontology
  • Community Health Worker (1st term only)

Students must be Minnesota Residents who are enrolled full-time (9 credit minimum). Priority is given to new, first year students, but transfer and returning students are welcome to apply. Submit applications by Friday, September 15th at 5pm.
