LPN Step-In Admission Process

Application to Northwest Technical College (NTC) and application to the LPN Step-In program are separate. Students must be accepted to NTC before applying to the LPN Step-In program.

  • Applications to NTC may be submitted at any time.
  • Applications to the LPN Step-In program will be accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year until the program becomes full. If/when the program becomes full, qualified students may be added to a waitlist. Applicants will receive their acceptance status approximately 30 days after submitting applications. Students will be notified via email if documentation is needed, otherwise they can expect to hear from the Nursing Admissions Team via email in approximately 30 days with their program admission status. Please note: the Nursing Admissions Team may close applications when the program is full, and reopen applications at its discretion.
    • Admission to NTC does not guarantee admission to the LPN Step-In program.
    • IMPORTANT: Completion of NTC’s Practical Nursing program does not equate to an application to the LPN Step-In program. All students must fill out a program application to be considered for admission to the LPN Step-In program.
    • Admission to the LPN Step-In program is required in order to enroll in nursing classes designated with the ADNG prefix.
