This 3-credit course provides an in-depth exploration of infant and toddler development, focusing on socio-emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative growth from birth through age three. Students will analyze developmental theories, design developmentally appropriate environments, and implement positive guidance strategies. The course emphasizes effective communication skills, professional and ethical conduct, and the creation of personal care routines. Through 32 hours of field experience, students will observe and interact with infants and toddlers in various settings, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. This hands-on experience will enable students to assess developmental milestones, plan and evaluate learning experiences, and foster positive relationships with children and their families.
