Observing & Assessing
This 3-credit course provides an in-depth exploration of observation and assessment techniques essential for early childhood education professionals. Students will engage in both theoretical and practical learning experiences to develop comprehensive skills in observing, recording, and assessing young children's development and learning. Students will complete 32 hours of field experience in an early childhood education setting, applying observation and assessment techniques in real-world contexts. This hands-on experience is designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills essential for professional practice. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively observe, assess, and support the developmental needs of young children, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.
