American Indian Resource Center Hosts Day of Welcome at NTC

The American Indian Resource Center honored the start of a new academic year during its annual Day of Welcome on Aug. 24 at Northwest Technical College.

Following a traditional welcome song, President John Hoffman and Chrissy Downwind, executive director of the American Indian Resource Center, commended students for investing in their futures and urged them to take advantage of the resources available to them through the AIRC.

Guest speaker Michael Dahl shared personal stories and offered advice to students about how to make the most of their time at NTC. 88 American Indian students are currently enrolled in the college’s six academic programs for 2022-23.

The American Indian Resource Center provides both Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College students, with a special focus on Indigenous students, a wide range of educational, financial and other resources to enhance their educations and assist them toward degree completion.
