Northwest Technical College continues to be an accredited institution with the Higher Learning Commission. That decision was affirmed following the peer review visit in spring 2016. NTC has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission without interruption since 1995. Reaffirmation of Accreditation is the result of a 10-year cycle of monitoring, goal setting and evaluation completed by the institution and affirmed by the commission. The Higher Learning Commission is an institutional accreditation agency that accredits degree-granting institutions of higher education that are based in the United States.

Program-Specific Accreditation
The following programs are accredited by their respective commissions.
Dental Assisting
The program in Dental Assisting is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of “has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements.” The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation has accredited the program in Dental Assisting. However, accreditation of the program does not in itself constitute recognition of any dental specialty status.
Nursing
The Northwest Technical College Practical Nursing diploma and Associate Degree Nursing programs are nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
