Welcome to Northwest Technical College!

Human Resources leads the NTC community to achieve workplace excellence by providing services that improve and support Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College employees. Services include benefits administration, recruiting, training and employee assessment. More than six hundred talented faculty, staff, and over eight hundred student employees with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds, support university and technical college operations every day.

Important COVID-19 Information for Employees

We are all in this together. Be aware that COVID-19 has varying impact on each member of the campus community and exercise the following safety precautions.

  • Wear a mask/face covering
  • Practice social distancing. Social distancing means staying out of crowded places, avoiding group gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Soap and water should be used if hands are visibly dirty.

Online Health Screening Tool and COVID-19 Protocol for Employees

In an effort to ensure the health and safety of all employees, BSU and NTC employees are required to complete the online screening tool prior to coming to work on campus.  All employees are also required to understand and adhere to the Employee and Supervisor COVID Related Protocol if you have symptom(s), potential or confirmed exposure to a positive COVID-19 case, tested positive for COVID-19, or recently traveled.  The Protocol also provides additional information related to your safe return to on-campus work.

Access to Leave Options

Understanding you may need to access leave options due to COVID-19 – Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB) has provided two updated leave policies for employees.

HR/LR Policy # 1440 Paid COVID-19 Leave

HR/LR Policy #1441 Expanded FMLA for COVID-19 Related School/Child Care (EFMLA)

For individuals looking for childcare options, the United Way of Bemidji and Greater Bemidji have collaborated on the “Step Up to Sit” program to match workers in need with childcare.
