Every year we work with campus administrators and faculty to develop three additional planning and procedural documents to describe and guide BSU/NTC’s emergency preparedness and management activities.

BSU/NTC All-Hazards Plan

The All-Hazards Plan describes how the university will manage and coordinate resources and personnel responding to emergency situations. This plan addresses BSU/NTC’s planned response to extraordinary emergency situations. It does not address normal day-to-day emergencies or the well-established and routine procedures used in coping with such emergencies. Instead, the operational concepts reflected in this plan focus on potential large-scale disasters that can generate unique situations requiring expanded emergency responses including coordination with local, State and Federal jurisdictions.

Emergency Procedures Guide

The Emergency Procedures Guide is a quick reference to the initial actions individuals should take in response to various emergency situations on campus. The actions listed in the guide should be considered guidelines that are intended to help you prepare for reasonable responses to the types of incidents included in the guide. The actual actions taken will depend upon and be influenced by the specific circumstances of the incident.

Building Preparedness Plans

These plans provide building specific emergency response information such as internal and external relocation sites, emergency contact points, names of key individuals and special considerations that may be unique to the building/area. Directors, deans and supervisors are responsible for completing the correct Building Preparedness Form.

Public Safety will review these forms annually in an attempt to have the most current plans on file.  Completed forms should be submitted to Environmental Health & Safety.

BSU/NTC Public Safety has primary responsibility for maintaining these plans and procedures, which are reviewed at least annually and updated as needed. All BSU/NTC community members need to be familiar with the emergency plans and procedures.
