AAS — Administrative Assistant

With all types of companies needing administrative support, graduates who obtain their Administrative Associate AAS degree will have a wide variety of career opportunities to which they can match their personal interests and talents.

The Administrative Assistant degree at Northwest Technical College will provide students with the computer knowledge, bookkeeping, business communication and secretarial skills they will need to succeed as an administrative assistant, executive secretary or office assistant.

Employment

Administrative assistant and associate positions — secretaries, receptionists, office assistant and office managers — are available in a wide variety of business, educational and governmental offices and often offer advancement opportunities into supervisory and management roles.

Next Steps

The Administrative Associate AAS is transferable in part toward the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration at Bemidji State University and in full to Mayville (N.D.) State University.

College Readiness

A student may be required to enroll in college readiness courses in reading, writing and math. A student’s scores on the Accuplacer assessment will determine enrollment in college readiness courses. The purpose of college readiness courses is to prepare students for the demands of a college-level curriculum. Credits may vary.
