On Aug. 4, Northwest Technical College welcomed the Big Ideas Road Show for a day full of hands-on activities that promoted hands-on careers in the trades. The lab, situated in the trailer of a semi-truck, featured built-in activities that promote trades careers including virtual or augmented reality classrooms for welding, industrial painting and heavy equipment operation. Each classroom allows learners to experience and practice the basic physical mechanics of each trade first-hand.
