PLHE 1145

Piping Systems Fabrication II

Credits: 3

Description: This course provides the learner with advanced experience in the installation of drain, waste, and vent piping systems, residential plumbing fixtures and appliances. Prerequisite(s): None

Credit Breakdown: 2/1/0 (Lecture/Lab/On the job training)


This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

  1. Identify and decribe common types af pipe and tubing used in plumbing installation.
  2. Understand that certian pipe and tubing material have specific application.
  3. Relate pipe and tubing selectionto plumbing codes.
  4. Develop procedures to order plumbing materials.
  5. Apply correct installation techniques for installing a water service.
  6. Apply correct installation techniques for installing a water distrubution system.
  7. Apply correct installation techniques for installing a sanitary sewer system.
  8. Apply correct installation techniques for installing a storm sewer system.
  9. Develop a plan of municipal and private water systems.
