Introduction to Plumbing/HVAC

Description: This course provides the learner with an introduction to the history and structure of the plumbing and HVAC industry. Topics include history of plumbing and heating, development and structure of the piping/HVAC industry, plumbing, pipefitting and heating terms and identification of various plumbing and heating systems. Prerequisite(s): None

This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

  1. Demonstrate basic safety procedures designed to protect the learners, components, and equipment.
  2. Identify items in the plumbing trade with proper plumbing terminology.
  3. Identify items in the HVAC trade with proper HVAC terminolgy.
  4. List and decribe industry and standards organizations related to the plumbing trade.
  5. List and decribe industry and standards organizations related to the HVAC trade.
  6. Recognize specific history related facts in the plumbing / HVAC industry .
