Description: This course teaches American Red Cross First Aid course content and American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course content. Prerequisite(s): None

This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

Core Abilities

  1. Demonstrate thinking/active learning skills.


  1. Demonstrate the steps of CPR at the Healthcare provider level for adults, children, and infants
  2. Demonstrate the use of basic life-support equipment
  3. Describe role of the rescuer and the response to life-threatening emergencies
  4. Determine necessary emergency response
  5. Manage care for traumatic injuries and emergencies
  6. Explain care for common medical emergencies
