{"id":161,"date":"2019-08-12T10:37:59","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T15:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/offices\/human-resources\/?page_id=161"},"modified":"2022-06-21T07:47:09","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T12:47:09","slug":"respectful-workplace-commitment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/offices\/human-resources\/current-employees\/employee-resources\/respectful-workplace-commitment\/","title":{"rendered":"Respectful Workplace Commitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Our Commitment to You, to Our Campuses, to Our Students, to Our Community.<\/h2>\n<p>We are committed to building and maintaining a workplace that is respectful and professional towards all employees, volunteers, contractors, students, and other persons visiting the work place and public service environment.<\/p>\n<p>Respect for one another is fundamental to working in an effective, efficient and innovative manner.\u00a0 Disrespectful or unprofessional communications and behavior can disrupt the proper functioning of work units.\u00a0 The Human Resources Team ensures a respectful workplace free of disrespectful and unprofessional communications or behavior by providing effective and non-retaliatory problem solving processes that address concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates professionalism and respect for others in the workplace.\u00a0 Employees can support a respectful workplace by reporting incidents that may violate this policy to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Megan Zothman, or their supervisor.\u00a0 The CHRO and supervisor are expected to take timely and appropriate action when a complaint (informal or formal) is made alleging violation of this policy.\u00a0 Retaliation is prohibited against any employee who initiates a complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Together we can ensure our workplace environment is a safe place for all of our employees to thrive professionally, mentally, emotionally, and physically.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>HR\/LR Policy #1432 \u2013 Respectful Workplace Policy<\/h3>\n<p>Minnesota Management &amp; Budget (MMB), the state agency charged with developing and implementing workplace policies for the executive branch of state government, takes the position that HR\/LR Policy #1432 Respectful Workplace applies to all executive branch employees, including employees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.<\/p>\n<p>MMB\u2019s Respectful Workplace Policy makes concrete the standards of workplace conduct that most college and university employees already assumed applied and that Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College previously expected of its employees.\u00a0 The policy is MMB\u2019s codification of these standards of conduct in a written policy.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Helpful Links:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/minnstate.edu\/board\/procedure\/1c0p2.html\">System Procedure 1C.0.2 Respectful Workplace <\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mn.gov\/mmb-stat\/policies\/1432-respectful-workplace-policy.pdf\">Work Place Policy- MMB HR\/LR #1432<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To submit a Respectful Workplace Complaint or if you have questions about the process, please contact your supervisor or:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:megan.zothman@bemidjistate.edu\">Megan Zothman<\/a><br \/>\nChief Human Resources Officer<\/p>\n<p>Megan.Zothman@Bemidjistate.edu<br \/>\nBemidji State University\/Northwest Technical College<br \/>\n218.755.2502\/218.333.6664<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Commitment to You, to Our Campuses, to Our Students, to Our Community.
