Our Initiatives

Through initiatives, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion pursues matters concerning policy, institutional structure, practice and education to advance the University as we aspire to infuse DEIA+ into all functions. Each initiative has a cycle no less than one year in length. We do this to ensure appropriate attention, implementation and resources are allocated to our initiatives.

Title IX 50th Anniversary Awareness and Education

Accessibility Climate Team
The ACT initiative will establish sustainable practices and protocol for Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College that centers the identification, analyzation and remediation of matters concerning accessibility and accommodation issues on our campuses. This initiative ensures that stakeholders have a direct pathway to administration, and it allows for the University and College to be held accountable for addressing accessibility and accommodation issues. The ACT initiative will also include transparent reporting to stakeholders. The protocol will yield a mixed display of data that may be reported to our community and assist with macro-level institutional strategic planning.
