Guided by our shared fundamental values, the Center provides training that is developed for students to learn about, experience, and reflect on diversity, equity and inclusion. Our training is delivered via two formats (i.e., online and in-person). Currently we have training offered:  

Diversity is Beautiful

Delivery Option: In-person or online 

Time Requirement: 2 hours 

Description: By attending this interactive training, students will be able to acknowledge the cultural differences, to identify the factors that influence individuals’ reactions with people who are demographically dissimilar from them, to increase competent level when addressing diversity issues with diverse people, to be more aware of the DEI services and support provided on campus, and to learn about some methods to reduce prejudice and to prevent discrimination. 

Safe Zone 

Delivery Option: In-person or online 

Time Requirement: 2 hours 

Description: By attending this interactive Safe Zone training, students will be able to have a foundational level of knowledge about the LGBTQ+ community, including significant LGBTQ+ movement and important timeline. Students will learn the key terms and core vocabulary, as well as the usage of inclusive language. Students will understand the importance of creating safe spaces and learn about how to advocate for the LGBTQ+ social justice and equality as an ally.
