{"id":4298,"date":"2021-09-27T13:15:56","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T18:15:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/news\/?p=4298"},"modified":"2021-09-27T13:15:56","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T18:15:56","slug":"practical-nursing-partners-with-gerontology-for-dementia-lab-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/news\/2021\/09\/27\/practical-nursing-partners-with-gerontology-for-dementia-lab-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Practical Nursing Partners with Gerontology for Dementia Lab Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students enrolled in Northwest Technical College&rsquo;s practical nursing program recently participated in a dementia lab <span role=\"note\" aria-roledescription=\"Custom font color\">where they were dressed in simulation equipment and instructed to complete a number of tasks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>NTC&rsquo;s gerontology faculty Dr. Wendy Potratz and Alicia Carley guided students through the immersive experience and afterwards debriefed with students to measure their perspectives regarding care for elderly and dementia patients.
