Brittney Rohloff thought her bachelor’s degree in applied psychology marked the end of her college journey. After graduating, she decided to try a new path — one which has brought her back to school at Northwest Technical College. She is now pursuing a career in electrical construction, supported by a scholarship from Otter Tail Power Company.<\/p>\n
“I wanted to be more employable and I thought that learning a trade would do the trick,” she said. “Of the programs offered at NTC, electrical construction seemed like the best fit for me.”<\/p>\n
The Otter Tail Power Company Scholarship is a $1500 scholarship awarded to students in NTC’s electrical program or have an interest in solar power.<\/p>\n
“This scholarship really took some of the financial pressure off me. I don’t feel like I have to work so many hours and stretch myself thin.”<\/p>\n
Rohloff is grateful for NTC and her instructors that have helped her succeed.<\/p>\n
“The electrical instructors are amazing. They all honestly care about my education and future as an electrician,” she said. “Their knowledge of the trade and willingness to pass it on to others is truly remarkable and I’m lucky to be attending NTC.”<\/p>\n
Northwest Technical College will host a 24-hour “Make your Mark” scholarship fundraiser on Nov. 10 in conjunction with its second annual day of giving.<\/p>\n
The day will provide an opportunity for alumni, students, parents, friends, staff, faculty and community members to give back to NTC with the goal of raising $25,000 in 24 hours.<\/p>\n
