{"id":3282,"date":"2020-05-21T16:15:14","date_gmt":"2020-05-21T21:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/news\/?p=3282"},"modified":"2020-05-21T16:15:14","modified_gmt":"2020-05-21T21:15:14","slug":"workforce-development-scholarships-fund-15-ntc-students-pursuing-high-demand-careers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/news\/2020\/05\/21\/workforce-development-scholarships-fund-15-ntc-students-pursuing-high-demand-careers\/","title":{"rendered":"Workforce Development Scholarships Fund 15 NTC Students Pursuing High-Demand Careers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the 2019-2020 academic school year, Northwest Technical College awarded nearly $34,000 in Workforce Development Scholarships to 15 high-achieving first-year NTC students enrolled in academic programs supporting in-demand career fields.<\/p>\n<p>Workforce Development Scholarships are still available for the 2020-2021 academic school year. Full-time, first-time NTC students pursuing careers in automotive service, early childhood education or childcare, dental assisting, emerging computer technology, engineering technology, medical coding or practical nursing are welcome to apply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntcmn.edu\/admissions\/tuition-aid\/workforce-development-scholarships\/\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The WDS program, funded by an appropriation from the legislature, offers $2,500 scholarships to students who enroll in programs leading to high demand occupations in healthcare services, advanced manufacturing, information technology, transportation, early childhood education or agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Workforce Development scholarship program helps our students here at NTC thrive in high demand career areas,&rdquo; Tia Miles, admission representative, said. &ldquo;We are excited for these students to receive this much-needed financial support and move on to their future careers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Students enrolled in eligible programs can receive two years of financial support up to $5,000, plus a third year if they complete a two-year degree and transfer to one of Minnesota State&rsquo;s four-year universities.
