Sadie Fraley, a sophomore from Northome, Minn., opened the event by playing her guitar for the crowd of more than 60 students, family members, faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>President Faith C. Hensrud welcomed all attendees to the first annual event and congratulated the students on their achievements.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s exciting to see what we&rsquo;re doing at NTC to help these students achieve their goals and move into a career they have been aspiring to for some time,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;What we are doing here at NTC is changing people&rsquo;s lives &mdash; and we&rsquo;re proud to do that.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Peterson, NTC student success coordinator, organized the event as one of his first initiatives after starting in January 2019. During the ceremony, he applauded the outstanding students he sees every day.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We really do have wonderful, hard-working dedicated students here at NTC,&rdquo; Peterson said. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a blessing to come here today to celebrate you.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Each of NTC&rsquo;s programs selected an outstanding student and a most improved student. The Outstanding Student Award was given to someone who consistently gives an exceptional effort, always participates, and is enthusiastic and dedicated within their program.
