There are many academic advisors on campus and students are assigned to an advisor in their declared degree program.<\/p>\n<h2>The Advising Partnership<\/h2>\n<p>NTC is strongly committed to the concept of the &ldquo;Advising Partnership.&rdquo; Your faculty advisor serves as a guide to the college curriculum and academic&nbsp;policy requirements. It is your advisor&rsquo;s responsibility to guide and counsel. It is your responsibility to make final decisions.<\/p>\n<p>You should discuss the following with your advisor:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Problems that may be impacting&nbsp;your academic performance<\/li>\n<li>Selection of courses for the&nbsp;upcoming semester<\/li>\n<li>Credit load<\/li>\n<li>Repeating courses<\/li>\n<li>Decision to add or drop courses<\/li>\n<li>Academic progress<\/li>\n<li>Selection or change of major<\/li>\n<li>Plans for degree completion<\/li>\n<li>Career consideration<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to Change Your Advisor<\/h2>\n<p>You may need to change your advisor if you change your major.
