What is Starfish?
Starfish Retention Solutions is an early alert and connection tool used by faculty, staff, and students to support student academic success.
Starfish Early Alert allows faculty and staff to generate notifications – called flags – on students demonstrating behaviors, performance, and characteristics that correlate with risk of not succeeding. These notifications help student services personnel to better assist students who may be facing academic difficulty. Starfish also enables student services personnel to easily document their outreach efforts with students and to quickly communicate those efforts back to the faculty or staff who have raised flags on students. Faculty even have the option in Starfish to send Kudos as encouragement to students who are doing well or improving in their coursework.
Starfish Connect creates a bridge between students, instructors, advisors, and student services to keep students on the right track. In addition to communication elements, online appointment scheduling is available through Starfish.
