Clinical Experiences & Partner Sites<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Clinical education is the foundation of the Northwest Technical College Nursing Program.<\/strong>
All laboratory and clinical experiences are completed in person—either on campus in Bemidji or at one of our established regional healthcare partners. These clinical sites provide students with immersive, hands-on learning in real healthcare environments, where they work alongside experienced professionals and care for diverse patient populations across the lifespan.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

Sanford Medical Center<\/h2>

Sanford Medical Center<\/i><\/a> Bemidji Location is a premier health care facility providing 24\/7 health services to Bemidji and its surrounding area. There are many areas of medical care provided including family health, cardiovascular, radiology, and rehabilitation. Sanford often hires nursing students from NTC and BSU due to the quality of education they receive and the close partnership they have with the universities.<\/p>\n

Havenwood Care Center<\/h2>

Havenwood Care Center<\/i><\/a>, located in Bemidji, MN is a senior living community offering social, recreational, intellectual, spiritual, physical, and re-motivational activities. This center allows students to learn more about geriatric health care special needs.<\/p>\n

51 minutes from Bemidji<\/strong> – Located in the beautiful lakes country of Park Rapids, MN, our Heritage Living Center<\/i><\/a> senior campus offers exceptional senior living services in a friendly and inviting environment. This living center allows our students to learn more about geriatric health care at different stages from nursing home to assisted living.<\/p>\n

CHI St. Joseph’s Health<\/h2>

51 minutes from Bemidji<\/strong> – CHI St. Josephs Health<\/i><\/a> is located in Park Rapids and an award-winning, 25-bed critical access hospital located in the heart of lake country. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, they offer a full range of services including 24\/7\/365 Emergency Department and Level IV Trauma Center, hospitalist program, testing, surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and more so that you can experience better health. Students completing clinical rotations at CHI St. Joseph’s Health will also rotate through Essentia Health–Park Rapids, as the two facilities operate as a shared clinical site.<\/p>\n

Medical specialty care includes medical surgical, surgery, cancer care, cardiovascular care, family care and many others. Grand Itasca has a history of providing employment opportunities for NTC students.<\/p>\n

Clinical site availability varies by program, course, and term.<\/strong>
For each clinical rotation, faculty designate a set of approved clinical sites offered that term. Students may select from the available options; however, placement at a specific site is not guaranteed.
