This page provides course details, testing options, and resources to help you take the next step.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nursing Assistant Course (HLTH 1110)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>HLTH 1110 &ndash; Nursing Assistant is a three-credit course at Northwest Technical College that provides foundational nursing assistant knowledge and hands-on patient-care skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is <strong>required<\/strong> for students planning to apply for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practical Nursing (Diploma)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traditional RN (Associate Degree)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this course, students build core skills used in healthcare settings and meet key nursing program requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After Completing the Nursing Assistant Course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who successfully complete HLTH 1110 are eligible to take the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant certification exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passing both the knowledge and skills exams allows individuals to be placed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CNA certification may be required by employers and is commonly used as a prerequisite for nursing programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CNA Certification Testing at NTC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Northwest Technical College is a state-approved CNA testing site for the Minnesota Department of Health.
