Students who complete the program will be well-trained eldercare specialists with knowledge and expertise in the field of aging and associated issues.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;\">By the year 2030, one in five Minnesotans will be considered an older adult and the youngest baby boomers will be turning 66. In response to this shift in demographics, several state agencies formed the Aging 2030 initiative to prepare Minnesota for a future where people both live well and age well.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The fact that NTC&#8217;s program includes dementia training demonstrates the preparation and thoughtfulness their faculty has taken to adequately address the needs of this community through the proposed gerontology program.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>&#8211;Kathryn Gonzalez, Northwoods Caregivers<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Graduates of the program will possess the knowledge and skills needed to provide seamless quality service to the aging population and their families. Career pathways include a wide variety of service and leadership opportunities related to psychology, economics, health and wellness, public policy and advocacy and service.<\/p>\n<p>NTC\u2019s Gerontology and Aging Care will offer an 18-credit certificate and can be completed in two semesters.
