Coding The Path From Poverty To Hope

Coding the Path from Poverty to Hope provides financial support for women to enter into a medical coding career. Each female student must be a resident of Minnesota and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Living at, or below, the poverty levelNTCOct2013-141
  • Caretaker of a child or elder
  • A woman of color

Note: Women selected may have access to financial support (based on need), daycare reimbursement, travel reimbursement, & cultural mentoring.

The Medical Coding Field

Medical coding involves using nationally recognized coding systems to classify procedures and diagnoses related to medical treatment, which is used in insurance claims processing. NTC’s Medical Coding program prepares students to complete many procedures associated with billing for medical services. In addition to the emphasis on medical coding, students also receive training in medical billing processes, including patient account management, diagnosis, procedures, and workforce skills.

In addition to completing your NTC applications and Financial Aid (FAFSA) appliction, please complete the form below by April 18, 2018 to be considered for the Medical Coding Grant.
