Northwest Technical College holds June 27 open house

On June 27, Northwest Technical College will hold an open house to provide an opportunity for prospective students to tour the campus and experience what an NTC education can provide.

The open house begins at 10 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m. Prospective students can learn about NTC’s online and on-campus academic programs, take a tour of campus and enter to win a number of door prizes.

The event also will feature fire and rescue technology demonstrations by the Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Sanford Health, and muscle cars featuring technology taught in the college’s automotive and high-performance engine programs will be on display.

A Sanford Health AirMed helicopter is scheduled to participate in the open house, depending on its availability. Northwest Tech nursing alum Matt Houge will be part of the helicopter’s crew.

“This is a great opportunity for people to visit our campus and see what we have to offer if they are considering a career or job change, or for people who may need additional training for advancement opportunities in their existing careers,” said Mike Heitkamp, associate vice president for admissions and enrollment for Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College. “Also, this provides the Bemidji community with a great opportunity to stop in check out some of the events taking place that day. Between the classic cars and the local emergency responders, it should be a great hands-on event for anyone in the community to enjoy.”
