NTC Prepares for Visit by Evaluation Team

Northwest Technical College will host three representatives of the Higher Learning Commission for a two-day site visit, Sept. 28–29, as part of the college’s reaccreditation process.

The site visit is the culmination of several months of intense activity at the college, as faculty, staff and administrators have been gathering data to present NTC’s case for accreditation. The college’s visit team includes:

  • David Ho, vice president of academic affairs (retired), Metropolitan Community College, Bellevue, Neb.
  • Cynthia Hoss, vice president of academic affairs, Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kan.
  • Eric Johnston-Ortiz, vice president for business affairs, Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, Roswell, N.M.

The team’s visit has three basic elements: customary meetings and reviews, areas of focus and improvement, and open-forum discussions. The team will conduct nearly 20 meetings with faculty, staff, administrators and others during the visit, which begins with an 8 a.m. breakfast with President Richard Hanson on Sept. 28 and concludes with an exit interview from 11:45 a.m.-noon on Sept. 29.
