This 20-credit certificate prepares graduates to manage medical billing and insurance processing or advance their studies with a diploma in Health Care Administrative Support or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Health Care Administrative Specialist.
Graduates with a Medical Insurance certificate are prepared for employment opportunities in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, government agencies, public health, home health agencies, long-term care facilities and dental offices.

Most credits earned toward this certificate can be applied to the 36-credit Health Care Administrative Support diploma or the 60-credit Health Care Administrative Specialist AAS degree. It’s easy to begin with a certificate and then continue for the diploma and/or the AAS.
A student may be required to enroll in college readiness courses in reading, writing and math. A student’s scores on the Accuplacer assessment will determine enrollment in college readiness courses. The purpose of college readiness courses is to prepare studentsfor the demands of a college-level curriculum. Credits may vary.
