The Medical Office Technology diploma leads directly into the 60 credit Medical Practices Office Manager AAS degree at NTC. It is designed to provide learners with an introduction to a career in the medical industry. Learners will have the opportunity to improve their skills in customer services, issues, prepare for positions of supervision, and practice written & verbal communications, conduct meetings, use computer applications and master medical terminology, coding and insurance issue.
Medical Office Technology graduates work in a specialty practice, hospital, clinic or related healthcare organizations. They typically schedule appointments, organize and maintain files, prepare reports and letters, and design office system procedures. They are also responsible for billing and collections for their practices.
