Renewable Energy

The Renewable Energy Certificate is designed to provide students with the knowledge necessary for a career in renewable energy technology. Students acquire theoretical knowledge in renewable energy resources and policy as well as hands-on skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, operation and repair and replacement of related equipment.

Students may choose from an emphasis in solar technologies including solar thermal and photovoltaics, or in small wind.  Students in the certificate program can move into the Sustainable Environment Technologies AAS degree at any time.

Incumbent trade workers and technical professionals are also encouraged to pursue the opportunities with this certificate in their current work or business practices.
