Wind Energy

As more and more communities are embracing wind technology to provide sustainable energy, this industry offers great opportunity. With a certificate in wind energy, you can find great-paying positions as small or large wind tower installers and maintenance crew members. Combining a wind energy certificate with another degree, such as our AAS in sustainable environment technologies, expands your opportunities even more.

Technical and general courses offer a mix of theory and hands-on learning in classrooms, labs and at job sites where you’ll learn the following skills:

  • Construction safety
  • AC/DC motors and generators
  • Basic electricity
  • Tower and wind energy safety

Employment

Upon completion of this certificate you will have basic knowledge of wind systems and be prepared for a supervised, entry level position in wind technology with a wind company, dealer or installer. Building trade professionals will gain knowledge that expands your services to include wind systems, consulting, planning, specifications and installation.
