Carpentry

Build yourself a great career by enrolling in our carpentry program. In addition to classroom instruction and shop work, we offer real-world carpentry situations at off-site projects. Everyone enrolled in our construction trade programs works collectively to build a home with green building techniques and materials. Together, you’ll learn the specialized skills, industry collaboration and carefully managed timing it takes to build a house from the blueprint stage to testing the doorbell. This real-life application gives you the added advantage of experience with the entire construction process rather than the isolated theory of a singular construction field.

Classroom and hands-on training will cover the following:

  • Building codes
  • Blueprint reading
  • Estimating
  • Site layout
  • Concrete work
  • Framing
  • Interior and exterior finishing
  • Cabinet construction and installation
  • Green building techniques and materials

Employment

Graduates of our carpentry program can work as general laborers or general carpenters on construction sites performing concrete forming and placing, framing, exterior finishing, roofing, interior finishing, trim work, cabinetry and drywall work. You’ll also earn advanced standing in an apprenticeship program with the carpenters union, which opens even more doors to a successful future.
