Model Processes III

Credits: 3

Description: Emphasis on construction of a highly detailed architectural model. Learners will learn techniques and determine materials used to transform drawings into models using traditional and non-traditional machine techniques including use of the laser system. Prerequisite(s): None

Competencies

  1. Demonstrate basic safety procedures designed to protect the learner and equipment.
  2. Demonstrate usage of advanced tools utilized in the model making industry for architectural model construction.
  3. Construct 3-D highly detailed models of residential/or commercial/industrial architectural projects.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of professional standards of model construction.
  5. Identify various types of architectural models.
  6. Demonstrate the construction processes used to construct a professional model.
  7. Identify materials utilized for the construction of a professional model.
  8. Demonstrate use of landscaping techniques in creation of professional model.
  9. Accurately read prints and sketches and convert information to 2D drawings.
  10. Demonstrate competency in usage of Universal Laser System to cut 2D parts for model construction
  11. Apply problem solving during construction of complex 3D model.
  12. Accurately assemble a milestone chart or timeline to track model construction.
  13. Utilize AutoCad 2D drawing program to draw or transfer data for download to Universal Laser System.
