Intro to NEC

Description: This course provides an introduction to the National Electrical Code. The learner develops basic skills and understanding of the National Electrical Code book and how it applies to electrical applications in the field. Prerequisite(s): None

This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

  1. Define the role of the National Electric Code and other national recognized testing laboratories and associations.
  2. Develop skills necessary to use the National Electrical Code.
  3. Interpret chapters one, two, and three of the National Electrical Code.
  4. Recognize the organization of the chapters, tables and annexes in the National Electric Code.
  5. Make calculations according to the National Electric Code
  6. Interpret the definitions used throughout the National Electric Code
