Exterior Enviro Design Methods

Credits: 3

Description: This course will enable the learner to develop skills used to properly install windows, exterior doors, sofits, house wraps, and various siding brands and styles. This course will emphasis greed building and its proper materials. Prerequisite(s): None

Outline

This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

Core Abilities

  1. Demonstrate thinking/active learning skills.
  2. Demonstrate effective communication/interaction skills.

Competencies

  1. Install various types of windows in an approved manner.
  2. Apply house wrap to project house.
  3. Demonstrate basic jobsite safety.
  4. Fit and hang an exterior door with hardware.
  5. Apply various types of siding materials.
  6. Install aluminum soffit and fascia.
  7. Air seal any penetrations in the exterior walls.
  8. Apply caulking where needed.
  9. Discuss what the green products would be used in exterior finish.
