Framing Principles

Description: This course is designed to provide an understanding of residential building techniques, materials, and tools. The learners will discuss the benefits of green building over traditional building. Prerequisite(s): None

This course should help you gain the following abilities and competencies.

Competencies

  1. Identify and describe floor framing members.
  2. Describe platform,balloon and post and beam framing.
  3. Describe several energy and materail conservation framing methods.
  4. Define terms used in stair framing.
  5. Determine the rise and tread run of a stairway.
  6. Identify and describe the funnction of each part of the wall framing.
