Business Math/Calculators

Credits: 3

Description: This course covers how to make commonly occurring business-related calculations, how to apply these calculations to accounting and other business functions, while using the computer numeric keypad. Prerequisite(s): MATH0080, or appropriate assessment scores

  3. Apply/covert decimal problems and conversions

  5. Solve equations and word problems for the unknown
  6. Apply /convert decimals, fractions to percentages
  7. Calculate trade and cash discounts
  8. Calculate mark-ups & markdowns including breakeven analysis
  9. Calculate payroll procedures
  10. Calculate different interest methods
  11. Demonstrate understanding of Promissory notes, simple discount notes, & the discount process
  12. Calculate compound interest and present value
  13. Calculate several depreciation methods
  14. Calculate inventory and overhead methods
  15. Demonstrate understanding of annuities and sinking funds
  16. Create learner artifact:Prepare a reflective paper on the skills you have learned and how they will help you in the future.
